Cruises go on and on and on

To Whom It May Concern:

Ship-To-Shore Cruise Agency® just received this information about "Cruises
go on and on and on..." and I thought it would be of interest to this
newsgroup as well.

Cruises go on and on and on...

A possibly long-lasting cruise trend: longer cruises.

For example:
Silversea is offering its first-ever world cruise, a 126-day excursion to
six continents.
Swan Hellenic, commonly known for 15-day cruises, is introducing a 65-day
trip to South America.
Cruises lasting longer than two weeks are being increased by 20% at Holland
America. Larger capacity ships are also being introduced.

What's behind the new popularity?

"Exotic destinations. Longer stays in ports. The absence of airport security
lines. The convenience of staying in one room while visiting several
countries," answers the Mercury News.

These types of cruises can start around $20,000 and cost well over$100,000,
said cruise operators.

Perhaps the granddaddy of them all will be Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2, which
early next year will set sail on an "Around the World in 80 Days" voyage.
