Delta Airlines Changing Uniforms

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- Cash-strapped Delta Air Lines has ordered up a
makeover of its employee uniforms, hiring a big-name designer who promises a
classier -- and in some cases, sexier -- look for flight attendants, airport
agents and other workers.

The carrier said Tuesday that designer Richard Tyler, whose dresses have
been worn by stars such as Julia Roberts, Heather Locklear and Jamie Lee
Curtis, will be overseeing the uniform change.

I just can't see how Delta can justify asking their pilots for a 30%
paycut and then turn around and announce new uniforms for 30,000
employees, designed by a top designer no less! Sure, I've seen the
current Delta uniforms and they're definitely not going to win any
fashion awards but........it hardly seems like a necessary expenditure
during such tough times, especially since they just got these uniforms
less than 5 years ago.

I'd be very surprised if the pilots didn't use this news in their
contract (re)negotiations.
