International driver's license
That's not true. We are from the US and had to show our international
permits. You DO e to carry your US license too, or the international permit isn't valid. "Dave Proctor" wrote in message ... There is no such thing as an "International Drivers License" - there is an "International Driving Permit", which serves to translate the details of your license if it is not in English. You will need to carry your actual license with you, the Permit by itself is not enough. Generally, if your license is in English, and I think all EU licenses are these days, that is all you will need to drive in New Zealand (and Australia as well). ========= Dave Don't Drink Drive.... If you are talking about NZ, see- http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/factsheets/56.html Which states - Can I drive in New Zealand? Yes - if you have a current overseas driver licence or a current international driving permit, you can drive for one year after you first arrive in New Zealand. If you do not have an overseas driver licence or an international driving permit you cannot drive. You must apply for a New Zealand driver licence (see factsheet 45 for more information). You can only drive the types of vehicles covered by your overseas driver licence or international driving permit. -- Tony Bailey Mercury Travel Books |
International driver's license
Actually, excuse my last post...wasn't reading carefully enough. We had to
have an international drivers permit to BUY a car at auction, not to rent. (They actually required that we have one to even test drive the cars there). We didn't rent a car at all in NZ, so I have no idea what the answer to your question is. "SportChick" wrote in message t... That's not true.
