Or you could visit Mecca during the Haj and watch the crowds
stampede themselves to death!

Strange as it may seem, millions of over hairy sweaty men crushed
together under the sun isn't exactly my idea of a good time either!

Really? I thought faggots enjoyed that sort of thing?

That's why I wrote it may seem strange.

That's a relief - I was concerned that my ideas about shirt-lifters
might be just ignorant bigotry.

You can have whatever ideas you want, but my comments about the haj
aren't about bigotry. If you want to name other similar events (I can
think of at least one, and it's nothing to do with muslims) I'll make
similar comments about them too.

And yet the one you CHOSE to comment on, complete with stereotypes of
Muslims, was the haj.

It was a thread about Saudi Arabia, you moron.

If it walks like a duck...

**** off.

I hate to say it,

but after much consideration, my opinion of muslims
is coming on par with yours. They truly are all ****ed in the head.

Even granting, which I wouldn't, the arab peninsula, every single
Muslim in Bosnia, Turkey, Indonesia, past and present is or was ****ed
in the head? I could stand to be reminded of your methodology at this
point.

Methodology? I'm just nuturing a prejudice. Don't pretend you don't
have 'em too!

I think most people understand that you are just **** stirring, but
unfortunately your little pals may actually believe this ********.

I very much doubt it. My inclusion of the word "all" was quite
intentional, as no-one would believe I meant it.

FWIW I just spent a week in Tunisia in the company of people from Iran,
Oman, Kuwait, Libya etc etc, and I can assure you that none of them was
"****ed in the head". They were kind, funny, educated people. The only
person who was ****ed in the head was the poor sap who had to give
simultaneous translation for a visitor from Kazakhstan.

But, as you say, it's just a prejudice and has nothing to do with
facts.

Indeed. Note that I regard all religions as equally silly and
dangerous, it's just that the Muslims are going particularly crazy at
the moment - with some justification.

Alternatives like ... ummm ... ahhh ... oh yes, nuclear power.

The Saudis really are behind, aren't they.

If oil becomes a product you grow in fields in the future, it

If that were to be the case, Australia's in big trouble too, but I

NZ was top of my list of places I wanted to go but wont get round
to, but talking to locals I'm not sure its not just too dull.
now Chile is top of that list, followed by Baffin Island.

NZ is fantastic if you like outdoors stuff.

I do, but not exclusively. I used to think I needed to whiz off
to far away places to climb different hills, but I've come to
realise that to some extent a hill is a hill and the UK ones are
generally day walk affairs, which suits us, and we are not likely
to run out of new ones. If I'm going to sit on a cramped plane
for hours I want interesting culture too.

Then stop off in SE Asia on the way through and have a look around!
The planes usually stop there anyway.

I think that was his point (though I don't take offense at that kind of
thing in this context) but as I'm not sure why making fun of a mass
gathering of (mostly) men is bigotted per se and I haven't made a single
comment about muslims in this thread (not all muslim countries impose
the form of sharia law I mentioned in the 'underwear' post FWIW) it
struck me as odd that he decided to go down this route.

Johor Bahru next door is an interesting contrast!

Never heard of it but that's not unusual for me and the east.

It's the city on the Malaysian mainland opposite Singapore. Right next
door, but feels like another world.

the absurdity of your anti English attitudes knows no bounds,
that's at least twice this week you have attached some old
******** that's in your head to the English. You are becoming a
bore.

I think you have to realise that he is **** stirring. It's not worth
arguing about it, or getting annoyed by it.
