Guest House/Bed&breakfast in DELHI INDIA!

Where can I find information on a guest house/paying guest/B&B/sublet
for 2-4 weeks in New Delhi/Delhi (location is very flexible, provided
that it's close to Delhi), with a A FAST
AND RELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTION IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT FOR ME. I've
tried to find this information on the NET, but without much success.

Also, safety is an issue since I have my laptop computer with me.

My needs are less, but I prefer to have the following:
1. Access via public transportation to the heart of the city of New
Delhi and Delhi. Therefore, I'm quite flexibile in terms of location.
2. Since I cook, I'd like some basic kitchen equipment (optional).
3. Access to people who have extensive knowledge on the city (i.e.
where to shop, how to get to certain places, etc.).
4. What is your opinion of your internet connection speeds? I have
no problem paying a premium for you to upgrade your internet
connection!
5. How fast is your internect connection (in megabits/second)?
6. Rates?

Delhi will not provide a fast reliable home Internet service because it
suffers from 'load shedding' and the power is off about 4 hours in 24 at
reasonably random, but usually known to the locals, times throughout the
day everywhere that doesn't have its own generator.

Home ADSL is growing in India but currently new accounts are taking about
seven months to be actioned.

I get about 256K on my ADSL, but that's in Bombay where things are a bit
more advanced and the power doesn't go off at random intervals, well, not
more than once a month...

Thanks for your speedy reply, WIlliam!

I called up some hotels and guest houses in Delhi/New Delhi area, and
they would have a 512kbps internet connection. Also, I will be using
this during off-peak hours - let's say from 6:00 PM - 3:00 AM IST.

From your perspective, is a 256kbps connection fast enough for me to
be able to use my Vonage VOIP? If 256kbps is good, than 512kbps is,
for sure, really good. I have a 5Mbps connection, and it's perfectly
good.

Thanks for your time.

Jeez- they still have that problem? It was like that in the 80s. I'd
naively assumed that with the improvement in the economy etc., that
those kinds of infrasructure things would be sorted by now...

No idea. I've found it to be a very, very useful site in
