JetStar Airways - AUTOMATIC REFUND????

Hello.

JetStar Airways Australia gives you a number of ways to pay for your
flight - Credit Card, Credit Voucher, and "Direct Payment" via BSB &
Account number.

Regarding the Direct Payment method:

JetStar says you have 2 DAYS to pay, on its website. This is lie.

You actually have THREE days to pay, because if you transfer money via
BSB & Acc# on Friday after 6pm, APCA requires all Banks to withhold
this until Monday 9am.

So, JetStar will hold a Friday booking AT LEAST for three days until
Monday.

Does anyone, with insider Jetstar knowledge of their computer system
or else tried it themselves, know definitively what the *ACTUAL*
system cut off date and time are?

(I am guessing: 121.3 hours after Booking)

Also, if you pay JUST AFTER this "actual cut off" time (124 hours
after Booking, for example), HOW WILL JETSTAR REFUND YOU?

Do you have to harass them for a refund, do you have to go to Fair
Trading?

Or is it done systematically by the computer system?

Anyone with "inside knowledge" know (or maybe tested this themselves)?

Noodle.

I don't think the number of days to pay can be seen as a representation
that they won't accept your money, and provide the ticket, if you pay
after that time, only that they guarantee to accept your money, and
provide the ticket, if you pay within that time.

If you decide you don't want to proceed with the transaction, then don't
pay. Jetstar can reasonable take payment as an indication of your intent
to proceed regardless of whether payment was actually within the stated
timeframe.

So I can't see that you can expect to get your money back just because
you paid late.

Sylvia.
