FC disappearing: CX said to be discontinuing FC on some routes

1Q 2004 for all CX 747 to be fitted with the New BC....
although for 888/9 it's now the "NBC" most of the time, as these flight
usually operate with
the larger BC configuration.. and all of those have been refitted.

Reportedly according to a CX employee newsletter, Cathay Pacific intends
to discontinue FC on its long thin routes served by A340-300 a/c. The 8
FC seats will be removed, BC pushed forward and EC seats added
(reportedly some 47)

Thin? As in the financial sense?

I really like the new Business class anyway. Hope they finish upgrading

all
their aircraft to the new business class soon (esp. CX888/9 and CX838/9).
