I'm just watching a TV program about Paris metro buskers. You need to
pass an audition to get a licence to perform. Musicians from all over
the world play on the metro stations, including some American jazz
musicians. A pity you can't all see the documentary.

Just to add the bassist and singer musician from the USA is Ferris. Try
and google him.
