Orbitz lost ticket & won't reissue

I purchased round trip tickets last March 20th. I went through Orbitz and was
only offered the paper ticket option. They were to be here by now but weren't
so I called Orbitz. I was informed Orbitz had mailed them, and could not
reissue or remail and so I need to repurchased these round trip, coast to coast
tickets.

They want me to send the old tickets back and THEN they will mail me new
ones....duh.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get Orbitz to remail these tickets?

I did speak with a Delta customer service rep (Airline the flights were made
on) and they seemed to think I could just take in paper itinery and be reissued
at the time of boarding??? But I don't feel comfortable waiting until the very
last minute.

If you paid by credit card, send them a complaint and ask for the charge
to be cancelled. On the basis of failure to deliver the goods.

I also called the charge card company. They told me the merchandise had been
delivered because Orbitz had sent it out. Also, to further complicate matters,
I paid for half of these tickets with Orbitz reward points from my Juniper
Credit card.
If I am going to have to purchase another ticket, I need to do it before prices
go up though.

Nonsense. It has not been delivered until you get it.

That does complicate the issue.

Is Jupiter the card you used to pay for the other half?
Surely they can't assume that "sent" and "received" mean the same thing.
Time to find another credit card company.........

Welcome to the fun of paper tickets.

Have you tried going to the CTO or the airport and asking the Delta rep
there to print you another copy? It's worth a shot.

I am curious about why they were paper tickets to begin with.
I bought Delta tickets last year through Orbitz and thought I got
e-tickets.

Go to the airport or the nearest Delta ticketing office and have the
tickets reissued now. Bring everything you have regarding the issue:
itinerary, printed emails, credit card statement, etc. If the latest credit
card statement does not include this charge, print the current charges
from your on-line credit card account (every credit card now offers
on-line access; if you have not used this, do it now). Be prepared to
wait at the Delta counter. Be polite but firm.

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago. As of several days
before my trip, the paper tickets had not arrived, in spite of being
bought online 2 weeks prior.

After discussions with the online seller and the airline, it was
recommended, if the tickets don't arrive by the day of travel, that I
get to the airport early and file a lost ticket claim with the airline.
The airline then sold me new tickets (at the same price I had paid,
IIRC), promising to refund me this amount if I send in my original
tickets. When I got back from my trip, the tickets had arrived in the
mail. I sent them to the airline and was properly credited for the
amount the airline charged.

This only happened to me once (and probably never again, given how rare
paper tickets are now), so I can't say what the current procedures are.

It doesn't matter.

Orbitz is responsible to make sure that the goods get delivered.

Orbitz may have a cause of action against the delivery service, but it is not
the responsibility of their client to run it down.

:File a complaint that with the relevant mail service. (I'm presuming

He didn't do anything.

Orbitz did.

:You shouldn't need to pay again, but if the original tickets turn up

If there is, the portion of the charge should be refused. Orbitz failed to

It is the vendors aka Orbitz's responsibility to deliver the goods.
