'Romantic Road'. Your recommendations please on places to camp and where to
find a camping guide for this area.

try google.de, type the region or city (in german) + camping. There are
a vast number of places

beside others the adac (german automobile association) offers a 800
pages guidebook, the camping guide-michelin, in german only.
