Southampton Pier***

We are scheduled to visit Falmouth during our cruise on the Constellation on
April 23rd where we planned to use the ATM to acquire British Pounds....If
by chance the waters are too rough for the tender to make landing there, is
there an ATM at the Southampton Pier so we will have the proper currency to
pay our way to London? Just covering all our bases and wondering if we
should get GBP here at home from a bank instead.

Thank You!

You will have no difficulty at all finding an ATM at the Southampton
Terminal.

Try asking the same question about a major US sea port and hear how silly
it
sounds.

Why? Genuine question! Do you mean they definitely would have ATMs?
I would certainly expect Southampton passenger terminal to have ATMs, and
any major UK rail station etc..

Thank you, John, that is a big relief to us.

Perhaps you might read what you posted and see how silly it sounds! This
will be our 37th cruise but our first Transatlantic one and we have never
needed to use an ATM at any major seaport in the US...in fact I have never
seen an ATM at any seaport pier, but then I was not looking for one since I
had no need for it....I do, however, remember landing at the airport in
Venice several years ago and being told that they had no ATM there at the
airport and I ended up going to a foreign money exchange office to get money
for transportation to our hotel and how costly it was.

I don't know what country you are from but you certainly do not offer
helpful advice.

Of course Southampton has ATMs

Too bad you did not refrain from sarcasm and post this as your first
response to my question.

The pier in Southampton isn't where your cruise ship will dock
http://www.theheritagetrail.co.uk/pi...on%20royal.htm

It will dock at one of the cruise ship terminals.

I don't ask silly questions that imply England is in the third world
either.

I implied no such thing and explained my concern because of our experience
at the airport in Venice.
Since when does not having an ATM at a certain location make a place a third
world country? THAT is a ridiculous statement!
By the way, thank you for the link to the cruise ship terminal...

I thought you were a troll, there are plenty around on this group.

Well, as you see now, I'm not...I do notice a lot of *chit chat* that goes
on between the regulars who post here. Sounds as if some of you do not like
each other very much or know each other well enough to jest with each other
as often as you do.
