parking in front of a dropped corner curb in NYC

Does anyone know if it's illegal to park in front of a dropped
(semi-circular) corner curb in NYC? There's a block in this one
neighborhood with a fire hydrant and the only way one can park 15 feet
away from it is to advance past the start of this curb (but not
actually into the intersection).
Thanks

Curb ramps are usually pretty close to the corner. You can't park past the
building line, so this restriction usually protects the ramps also.
