Taken: The Untold Story of Flight 370

So this is the working title so far, and a rough sketch of the plot:

Taken: The Untold Story of Flight 370

In a world on the edge of World War 3, turned upside down by the war on
terror, geo-political collapse and global economic instability, two
agents of China's Kong Jin (air police) are in a race against time as
they try to find out who has taken control of their plane - and what
they intend to do with 225 passengers, crew, and even the plane itself.

60 year old retired Senior Colonel ROCAF (People's liberation Army
Airforce) Zhang Yong (Jackie Chan) is on his last flight as a Chinese
Air Marshall, about to certify is protege 25 year old Wang Xiu Lan
(Zhang Yuqi) as a fully qualified Kong Jin.

But what they think will be an uneventful red-eye from Kuala Lumpur to
Beijing will turn into a nightmare from which they may not return.

=================

There's a couple of different plot angles here, but the main story is
that the Pilot and CoPilot are smuggling 500 lbs of cocaine into China
but begin to suspect they are plotting to double-cross each other and
walk away with the $25 million payoff.

So they each hatch a different plan to "neutralize" the other, with both
of them not knowing there was a third player in the mix.

First draft of the screen play in about 2 weeks.

Ok, here's the main plot:

A small hi-tech and super-secret US military contractor has developed a
composite nano-material that can make anything that it's made out of
invisible to radar by bending EM waves through the material. This is a
first step in making objects invisible in the visible light spectrum for
other defense and Darpa projects.

The contractor delivers a shipment under armed convoy to Boeing for use
in a new generation prototype steath drone, but a Russian agent working
at Boeing manages to make a production switch so that the secret
material is used instead during the manufacture of a particular Boeing
777 airliner that is eventually delivered to - Malaysia Airlines.

Fast forward 6 months and a pair of Russian agents intend to hijack
flight MH370 and fly it to Kazakhstan where it will be refuled and fly
onward to Russia. The Russians fabricate a drug deal for the Malaysian
Airlines pilots to participate in, and plant enough evidence for
Malaysian investigators to discover and pin the blame for the loss of
the plane on a drug deal gone bad, with the plane believed to be lost
somewhere at the bottom of the Indian ocean.

The US discovers that the plane is made from the top-secret composite
material that will make it practically impossible for conventional
weapons to destroy, but they doesn't know how much of it was used on the
plane. They send the US forces on a mission to seek and destroy the
plane to keep it out of Russian hands. Our heros (Chinese Air Police
Zhang Yong and Wang Xiu Lan) must deal with rogue Malaysian Airlines
pilots, two Russian special forces commandos, and a prototype USAF F-35
Joint Strike Fighter operating from Carrier Strike Group Three in the
Indian Ocean.

Can Yong and Xiu Lan out smart, outlast and outmaneuver their foes - and
save themselves and the passengers by gaining control of the plane and
landing it safely?

but the main story is that the Pilot and CoPilot
are smuggling 500 lbs of cocaine into China but
begin to suspect they are plotting to double-cross
each other and walk away with the $25 million payoff.
Right before take off, each was told by his "handler"
that the other had been promised an extra million to
kill him -- saving the cartel $24 million.

So they each hatch a different plan to "neutralize"
the other, with both of them not knowing there was
a third player in the mix. The Captain had smuggled
onto the plane a short acting herbal sedative, which
would render the copilot unconscious for about four
hours, well long enough to land, and see to the death
of the copilot. The copilot had brought on board ancient
striking weapon called a Wa Fook.

Ok, here's the main plot:

A small hi-tech and super-secret US military contractor
has developed a composite nano-material that can make
certain metals invisible to radar by bending EM waves
through the material. Fortunately, the aluminum and
titanium alloy of the air plane shell is one such metal,
but the titanium and berellium turbo jet blades are not
as affected.

This is a first step in making objects invisible in
the visible light spectrum for other defense and
Darpa projects.

The contractor delivers a shipment under armed convoy
to Boeing's Tokyo terminal for use in a new generation
prototype steath drone, but a Russian agent working
at Boeing manages to make a production switch so that
the secret material is used instead during the manufacture
of a particular Boeing 777 airliner that is eventually
delivered to - Malaysia Airlines.

Fast forward 6 months and a pair of Russian agents
intend to hijack flight MH370 and fly it to Kazakhstan
where it will be refuled and fly onward to Russia. The
Russians fabricate a drug deal for the Malaysian Air-
lines pilots to participate in, and plant enough evidence
for Malaysian investigators to discover and pin the blame
for the loss of the plane on a drug deal gone bad, with
the plane believed to be lost somewhere at the bottom of
the Indian ocean.

The US discovers that the plane is made from the top-
secret composite bullet and missile resistant material
that will make it practically impossible for conventional
weapons to destroy, but they doesn't know how much of it
was used on the plane. There may be parts of the plane which
are made of conventional material, and this is vital to know.
They send the US forces on a mission to seek and destroy the
plane to keep it out of Russian hands. US fighter jets are
scrambled, and attempt to make radio contact with the
composite material plane. Failing radio contact, the US
military commands them to shoot it down. Forward tracer
rounds from the fighters bounce off the fuselage and wings,
thus confirming this is the composite plane that they are
seeking.

Our heros (Chinese Air Police Zhang Yong and Wang Xiu Lan)
must deal with rogue Malaysian Airlines pilots, two Russian
special forces commandos, and a prototype USAF F-35 Joint
Strike Fighter operating from Carrier Strike Group Three in
the Indian Ocean.

The Pilot and Copilot become aware of the military strike
on the composite plane, when the F-16 pilots warn them. And
then, they can hear the gunfire hitting the composite
material. After several minutes, the F-16 peel off, and the
pilot continues to fly. Two minutes later, the airliner
changes course, turns about 60 degrees. The F-16 refuel and
return to follow the plane, but find it missing.

Can Yong and Xiu Lan out smart, outlast and outmaneuver
their foes - and save themselves and the passengers by
gaining control of the plane and landing it safely?

Cut rest.

A book written about four years ago has a rough outline of a
hijacking involving part of the crew. Bolt Action is the name of it.
