Where are the best places to travel?

I love to travel the world. My next destination is Africa. I would
like to know where the best places to visit in this vast continent.

Hallo Miles - you will probably get as many answers as there are people
living in Africa. I suggest that you refine your search down to such
questions:
1: Cities or rural areas
2: Coast or inland
3: Dry lands or savannah or forests.
4: Temperate or hot.
5: Tourist sites or the unknown
6: Activities or relaxing
7: Game Drives or plantlife or scenery.

Just to mention a few. Then you should get a more correct answer.

Miles,

if you want a simple answer, visit east Africa. Its savannah
landscapes with the savannah wildlife, the Great Rift Valley
(cradle of mankind), the lakes and the mountains are probably
the best you can see in Africa.

If you don't believe me, try to look at it with your own eyes
and guess where you'd want to go. Look at
http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA04965.jpg. The picture
is 13.79 MB in size, so be a bit patient, but it's worth the
little wait. And it's very instructive. (It is an
altitude-colored radar map from the Shuttle Radar Topography
Mission.)

Looking at Africa, just ask yourself, where does it look most
interesting? Where would I go if I were an alien looking for an
emergency landing spot? (:-)

If you look at the area between the three lakes, that's where
the Serengeti is.
