My wife and I go on a cruise every year. She has a cruise booked for my
40th birthday (September 13), but I'm considering trying something different
like an all-inclusive resort.

I'd appreciate input (pros, cons, reviews, etc.) regarding all inclusives
you've been to in Mexico or the Caribbean. We're in Houston and will be
flying out of Bush Intercontinental.

Thanks for the input.

Thats a tall order! Have you looked at any of the websites which do
reviews? or googled some possibles?
I havent ever been on a cruise so cant comment on the
similarities/differences but the obvious one is that you'll be in the same
place and not waking up every day to a new place and new trips. To make the
most of the AI concept you'll want to spend most of your time at the resort
too (tho I suppose on a cruise you are 'stuck' with the same dining room and
same people!).
Do you want a large place, or a small one?
Fine dining?
gambling?
water sports?
other activities?

Personally, I liked La Source on Grenada, Escape on Barbados (but that may
be only UK/Europe available),
Spanish Bay Reef on Grand Cayman (but we went there for the diving) and
disliked Rex Blue Heron on Antigua. If money was no object, I'd probably go
AI at Anse Chastenet on St Lucia.

i'd recommend it to anyone. beyond the usual it includes all your drinks!!! we
were drinking from the beach huts at 10:00am!! we did a couple of off property
excursions including the spectacular jamaican waterfalls. good luck.
