Tanzania - start of rainy season?

Looking for advice & insight on when the rainy season typically starts
in Tanzania, and what form it takes.

The specific region in question is West & Central ... Katavi, Ruaha
and Seleus, but insight on the North can't hurt.

By some accounts, the start seems to be "early"? December. Is this
correct? Wondering how reliable mid-November is to catch the end of
the Dry season without much rain.

And for how the rainy season starts, is it something like:

(A) scattered rains
(B) constant rains

(1) gentle
(2) heavy

(@) thunder-&-lightning
(#) no "light show"

etc.

For example, scattered but locally heavy thunderstorms would be "A-2-
@", whereas a quiet, gentle rain falling across a broad area would be
"B-1-#".

Thanks,

-hh
