We're visiting Sydney for a weekend in April to celebrate our
anniversary.

Any recommendations for hotels that are particularly nice? Flexible
on budget, not too fussed about decor but would like nice views and a
good pool.

Cheers

J.

My family and I stayed at the Grace Hotel for a week this August past.
It's central, walking distance to Darling Harbour (10 mins) and Circular
Quay (15 mins). Staff were very helpful and they have a pool/gym. Try...

We plan to return to Sydney during December 2006 and we'll definitely
stay there again. BTW, this was our first visit to Australia and we just
love this country.

At over $400 a night, and minimum two night stay, it should be pretty
comfy :-)

Normally, very prudent but as it is a special occasion was thinking to
go somewhere nice......so comments appreciated.

Well, depending on exactly how flexible that budget is, there's always

If you really want to splurge, the Park Hyatt has an unbeatable view

We splashed out on the Shangri-La for our recent honeymoon. After 5 nights
there, we decided that the hotel helped make Sydney special. We had an Opera
House view-suite 27 floors up which was superb for the lightning storm in
the harbour on our last night.

You could see the hotel from everywhere, and everywhere from the hotel - we
particularly recommend the Altitude Restaurant for a special occasion.
Circular Quay is 2 blocks away, and the Harbour Bridge within 10 minutes
walk.
