Expectation of life
In 2009, the ABS revised its estimates for expectation of life at
birth for Indigenous people [2]. After adjustment for the
underestimate of the number of deaths identified as Indigenous, the
ABS estimates that Indigenous males born in 2005-2007 could expect to
live to 67.2 years, 11.5 years less than the 78.7 years expected for
non-Indigenous males (Table 6). The expectation of life at birth of
72.9 years for Indigenous females in 2005-2007 was almost 10 years
less than the expectation of 82.6 years for non-Indigenous females.

If comparative life expectancies and comparative infant mortality
rates are not a measure of the efficiency of comparable medical
systems, Calder, please point that out to your fellow Socializied
medicine pimps.

Their mantra is that since the French live about a year longer than we
"mericans' overall it is because our medical care is inferior.

I happen to agree with you on that issue, Calder but straighten out
your fellow socialized medicine worshippers on that point, Will ya?

Our infant mortality rates are affected dramatically by our larger
population composistion of African American women

"...The important role of lifestyle factors in determining infant
mortality risk has gained added recognition through the study of the
health experience of many Hispanic groups, which has challenged a
strict socioeconomic approach to explaining race/ethnic differentials
in infant mortality (Williams and Collins, 1995). The Hispanic
population is characterized by birth outcomes that are more similar
to
the non-Hispanic white population than to the African American
population, with whom they share similar socioeconomic risk profiles.
As a result, the more favorable birth outcomes of Hispanics, and in
particular the foreign-born component of the Hispanic population, are
largely attributed to positive cultural/behavioral practices
(Scribner
and Dwyer, 1989; Weeks and Rumbaut, 1991; Scribner, 1996). It is
argued
that several Hispanic subpopulations may be able to successfully
limit
the harmful effects of their disadvantaged socioeconomic position in
the U.S. through salutary, culturally based behavior such as a
healthy
diet and low rates of substance use (Rumbaut and Weeks, 1996). For
this
reason, socioeconomic factors may not be as important in determining
infant mortality risk in populations that are able to buffer the
deleterious consequences attached to a disadvantaged social position.

Conversely, without strong, culturally based support systems to
counteract socioeconomic disadvantages, many economically
disadvantaged
women may resort to harmful stress reduction behaviors such as
cigarette smoking and substance use (Scribner and Dwyer, 1989; James,
1993)...."

So what is the alternative?

That poor people have no access to medicine as in the U$A?

Where were the same "shocked and horrified" protesters when Bob Ellis,
ALP member and speech writer for Bob "Do Nothing" Carr said this about
Duck's Bum after her father's death?

"She fled an important conference, and a meeting with Vladimir Putin,
because her father had died at 83, and fled home weeping to Adelaide.

Leaving a battlefield because of a dear one's death is not what she
lets our soldiers do. They must stay, and fight to the battle's end.
Yet she thinks she is different somehow. She is allowed her girly
tears and her time off, playing hookey from her national obligations,
her duty".

And what about this scurrilous tweet from Bowen's wife, Rebecca
Mifsud?

"Alan Jones age 71. Avergae (sic) lifespan for an Australian male age
79. Patience my pretties #auspol bahahaha"

Our overall life expectancy figures are skewed dramatically downward
byour t larger composition of African American males with
comparatively very low life expectancies particularly in our inner
cities where they kill each other by alarming rates.

Ours are skewed by the Aboriginal population, your point is what? Maybe if
these African Americans had universal access to health care the problem
would be solved.

Facts, Australians live longer and Australia+Cuba have lower infant
mortality rates
