aren't about bigotry. If you want to name other similar events (I can
think of at least one, and it's nothing to do with muslims) I'll make

Actually, my own stereotype was that its the US thats prudish
about nudity? I find no shortage on Brits on naturist beaches of
Europe and British womens boobs are to be seem on other beaches
and in the lower order newspapers. Although we seem stricter than
Spain and Italy on using sex in ads.

BTW, we dont wear bowler hats to work and it isnt foggy all the
time.

NZ was top of my list of places I wanted to go but wont get round
to, but talking to locals I'm not sure its not just too dull.
now Chile is top of that list, followed by Baffin Island.

NZ is fantastic if you like outdoors stuff.

I do, but not exclusively. I used to think I needed to whiz off
to far away places to climb different hills, but I've come to
realise that to some extent a hill is a hill and the UK ones are
generally day walk affairs, which suits us, and we are not likely
to run out of new ones. If I'm going to sit on a cramped plane
for hours I want interesting culture too.

But hey, aren't you just so _impressed_ that the Saudis are looking to a
future after oil by doing all this?

I wonder if they are working on solar powered planes and air con,
they will need to?

If oil becomes a product you grow in fields in the future, it
might be fresh water that will be the new gold. The Saudis are
probably stuffed, either way.

Is it that bad? I've never considered going there, all I know is
crap weather and strict rules.

Imagine a big, big shopping mall.

Admittedly, food there is excellent,

I can get good food elsewhere.

but the authorities seem so
intent on people not doing anything apart from working and spending
money, that other places nearby are much more appealing.

sounds horrible, work and shopping do not appeal

Johor Bahru next door is an interesting contrast!

Never heard of it but that's not unusual for me and the east.
