Questions re. security screenings

Last month I flew MSP-TYO-SIN and returned SIN-TYO-PDX-MSP.

Going, I had to go through baggage x-ray and metal detector in TYO, and
on the return I had to do so in TYO and PDX.

Free beer on flights?

In Sep 2006 I flew MSP-ORD-HGK and return on United. On the
trans-Pacific leg beer and liquor were free.

Last month I flew MSP-TYO-SIN and return on NW. B + L were $5.

On their website, NW suggests an itinerary MSP-Tokyo-SIN. The first
segment arrives NRT 4:40 pm, leaves at 5:45 pm, that is, 1 hr 5 min. Is

How to pass time on a 13 hour flight

Someone mentioned Ambien to aid sleeping. Ambien requires a

How heavy is a door?

I think some of the emergency exits have doors that remove completely,
as opposed to opening on hinges. It strikes me those things must be
heavy, maybe even too heavy for many men to easily...
