Caravan Parks, i.e. commercial places that have sites where you can leave
your caravan, campervan or camper, range from $10 to $32 for two adults
overnight per night.

There are a number of places (in Queensland) where you can stop (in company
with others) overnight and up to 48 hours but there are no hot showers and
often not even a cold shower or any other amenity.

Me? I prefer the hot shower each night.

You can purchase directories of caravan parks for each state from the
motoring club for that state OR you can purchase a directory for the whole
of Australia from the RACQ (Queensland Club) http://www.racq.com.au although
this directory is populated by parks that pay for an entry.

I am looking at hiring a campervan to tour australia's East coast in the
summer.

This may sound like a dull question, but whats the deal on stopping
overnight?!
Is it jsut a case of pulling over in an appropriate spot or only in
campsites? if so, what is the average cost (if any) per night to park
your van and stay on a pitch for a night?

thanks in advance!
