Last week, Starkey Laboratories had an incentive trip
for their dealers (who sell hearing aids) aboard Explorer
of the Seas. Cruise News Daily subscribers read that what
made this one different is that Royal Caribbean donated
$70,000 to the company's Hear Now foundation to purchase
hearing aids and associated services. At each port of
call, the Starkey people went ashore and fitted hearing
aids for children and adults (up to a hundred people at
some ports) who were unable to afford the instruments.
Because time in port was short, the recipients and
screenings were prearranged. The group did this on three
back-to-back cruises.
