If they say the road isn't open, believe them! Last year, we arrived
in Glacier NP in mid-June -- the road was open as far as the lodge.
After that, completely closed because of rock and mud slides and snow
accumulation. We drove in and out on the same road. Since we were
going to the other side, we had to drive around 200 miles to the south
and around -- very inconvenient. If we had realized the road would
not be open in mid-June, we would have changed our route completely.
