Another "must see" is the War Museum. If the weather cooperates, there
may be boat cruises on the Rideau Canal. Or walk a few miles along the

early for the Tulip Festival, unfortunately.

cool. How is traffic in Ottawa?

It's getting worse every year, but not nearly as bad as Toronto or
Montreal. The bus system, OC Transpo, has deteriorated over time,
too.

The main rush-hour routes are the "Queensway" (the 417), Hwy 174 (to
Orleans in the east), the Ottawa Parkway (in the west) and the
Rockcliffe Parkway (in the east). Because there are so few
alternatives, an accident can lead to traffic chaos.

Rush hour is from about 7:30 to 10AM, and 3:00 to 6:30 PM.

FYI -- the Rideau Canal opens on 16th of May. There are trails on
both sides for walking/biking/blading. It's funny to see all the
people out with t-shirts and shorts on the first day the temperature
climbs over 10 C.

Enjoy your stay!
