Why do you want to sit in your hotel looking at the falls? Go to Goat
Island and stand right at the edge as the water falls over. Or take
one of the walkways behind the falls. Or ride the Maid of the Mist.
The view from your hotel room is more or less like watching the falls
on a video.

Because you have to go to bed sometime. Yes, it is a shame they were
constructed, but they are there and the view from the rooms are fantastic.

While I count myself among those who recent the erection of tall buildings so
close to one of the great natural wonders of the world, I have to admit that
they are not entirely intrusive. If you are walking or driving along the
parkway you are more likely to be looking at the falls that at the buildings
on the top of the hill behind it, though I am sure they mar the view from the
American side.

If you're on the American side, you can't miss them. My Italian
husband and I were there last summer and he was horrified that Canada
had allowed such monstrosities to be built so close to the falls. He
said that it was worse than the worst abusive construction he had ever
seen in Italy, and that's saying something. He refused to spend a dime
in Canada in protest.

It is a shame that they located the new casino right next to
those hotels. I am sure it will mean lots more business for the hotels, but it
seems such a waste of valuable tourism real estate. The serious gamblers would
be just as happy to have gone a mile or two down the road.

I think Ontario needs to have a good ecological re-education program
for it's urban planners or whatever they're called. Are they totally
in the pockets of big business?
