Default Singapore hop-of to Myanmar, Mid -Late June

I am booking a London - Medan return, via Singapore on Singapore
Airlines. I have the option of either a free stop-off in Singapore
(which I have been to a couple of times and have no great interest in)
coupled with a cheap regional flight to another South East Asian city,
or alternatively an open jaw (with one connecting Silk Air or Singapore
airlines flight from Singapore and to Singapore on the return leg),
such as London - Denpasar, then Medan - London, with Denpasar - Medan a
relatively cheap internal flight.

Having looked at the possible options from Singapore on JetStar Asia,
which appears to be the only budget option, given the high cost of Silk
Air, which are
Hong Kong (SGD342 return)
Manila (SGD343 return)
Rangoon (SGD403 return)

I have been to other potential low-budget destinations from Singapo
Phuket, Bangkok, Siem Reap, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Penang. The open-jaw
option needs to be a Silk Air or Singapore Airlines destination from
Singapore, and I need a cheap flight from that destination to Medan,
which implies either Penang, KL, which I have visted several times, or
an Indonesian city: Jakarta, Surabaya, Solo, Lombok, Manado,
Balikpapan, Palembang and Denpasar. Of these only Lombok, Manado and
Denpasar are tourist destinations and I have previously visited both
Lombok and Denpasar, while Manado would require a night's stopover in
Singapore, as would all the JetStar Asia options.

So given my choices - Hong Kong (never been), Manila (never been, but
would want to get elsewhere and don't want to have too much time to
spend to get somewhere else), Rangoon, and Manado, it looks like
Rangoon is the best option.

I would arrive Rangoon 09:45 on June 17th, and go back to Singapore
24th June.

Can anyone suggest a reasonable itinerary in the first instance, and
secondly advise what the weather will be like. I see that it is low
season and prices are lower, which is generally not a good sign, as
people will stay away for a reason.

I have previously travelled in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia,
Singapore, Indonesia, in the rainy season and can't say that it has
bothered me - I had a nice time on Sihanoukville at the beach with grey
skies overhead in July for instance, and generally found tropical rain
to be warm, heavy and brief, but I'm wondering with Myanmar being
further West, and closer to my vision of Indian-style monsoons, whether
the rains interrupt things more.

That said, looking at the climate tables for June, they do seem fairly
extreme
(http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/c...ml?tt=TT002080)
- only 3-4 hours of sunlight per day, 500mm/rain per month, and about
25/30 days of rain in the month.

Can anyone comment on whether the weather in this period is likely to
lessen my enjoyment of my trip?
