There is a small lagoon adjacent to the RSL Club that is regularly used
by scuba classes on the Tweed River at Twed Heads about 1 hour south of
Brisbane. It is an ideal site as it should have clear water on the
incoming tide and isn't more than about 5-6 metres deep. Its about 500
metres from the river entrance so there is almost no waves. Just outside
the lagoon in the river itself there is a rockwall that drops down to
about 7-9 metres so if you feel up to it you can actaully have a real
snorkel. It isn't the most exciting place but it is safe and convenient
as there are picnic facilities on site.
