The best value-for-money way to find accomodation all over South
Africa is at the thousands of B+B's all over the country. As you drive
into a town, you will see signs pointing the way to the various B+B's
in the town. Pickone that looks nice, and ask them if they have a
vacancy. In November you shouldn't have a problem.

Depending on the town, a good B+B will go for anything from R85 ($13)
to R500 ($80) per night.

You will find that most B+B's will have secure parking, a clean and
neat room, BTW, in spite of being called a Bed AND Breakfast, some of
them don't offer breakfast.

What I like about a B+B is that you get to meet local people, and you
learn a lot about the area etc.

We'll be driving the Garden Route at the end of November and figure to stop
between Mossel Bay and Knysna one night, then on to PE. We then fly to
Durbs for two nights and pick up a car to drive to Joburg, expecting to stop
at Giant's Castle along the way. Anyone have and reasonably priced hotel
recommendations for those areas?

Mike.
