I have been stopped in Italy for a papers check no one commented on my
lack of IDL though technically I believe it is required there. That said
I would have one the further and less English speaking the destination.
As the IDL is basiscally a verified translation to make things easier
for the locals to figure out who you are and whether you should be
driving that Armored Personnel Carrier, motorcycle or whatever.
