Default ADMIN: My HAL, Cunard and QM2 Yahoogroups

I'd like to know as well. I'm currently President of a non-profit org and
have set up a number of groups for admin purposes. In June I'll be
passing-on the duties to someone else. I'd like to pass on the ownership of
the groups as well (I assume my successor would like to be unencumbered by
my presence)

You are correct, it is simple to change ownership and moderators on
the Yahoo groups. You can also ban members from the group who are
causing problems.

Changing moderators and banning members is simple, yes. Changing
ownership of the Yahoogroup without including the original owner in
some capacity (as a moderator or a subscriber) is impossible. I've
tried, others have tried . . .it can't be done. And Yahoogroups
"Help" is no help. If you have the secret, please post it.

Seriously.

Could you transfer ownership, keep yourself as a member, then in a few

days
unsubscribe yourself?? Or just put your membership to "web only, no mail"?

We had a group recently where the owner transferred ownership and left the
group ... So it can be done.

I'll do some investigating.
