Default searching for a flight to the UK FROM Budapest

Yes, and? So put in "flights Budapest to Edinburgh" in the search
instead.

Who has a search engine that lets me frame my query that way?

All of them do. And the one above will lead you to the desired result.

I can't
find either an airline or a third-party search site that will do it.

Seriously? Really?

You can't go to opodo.com, skyscanner.com, or hipmunk.com and just put
in originating airport (BUD), destination airport (EDI), and search for
a one-way ticket on your desired date?

If I ask Google for "flights to UK from Budapest" it only gives me
flights TO Budapest.

So you modify your search to "flights Budapest to Edinburgh." If you
land on a site like skyscanner.com and it shows Edinburgh - Budapest,
there's a little two-arrow icon there; click on it and it switches the
locations. It looks like Jet2.com can do BUD - EDI non-stop for £149.

This is the kind of request from somebody who's never used either
search or multi-airline booking sites before. WTF? Seriously?
