My point indeed:

Americans are known to be the MOST IGNORANT PEOPLE on the planet.

The French DID support Hitler. You may learn something by Googling
the string "France Vichy Hitler".


Depends on how you define "the French". The Vichy government came
AFTER the Germans had forced France to surrender and left part of
France as a rump state under their control. Saying the French
supported Hitler is a bit like saying Chechoslovakia supported
Hitler because the rump state left after it lost the Sudetenland
and Slovakia was controlled by the Germans.

Yet, France did have some fairly strong Fascist organizations and
parties, even before 1939, and Petain wasn't much of a democrat.
