Math is not you strong point!

In mathematics, a figure expressed in three figure accuracy has
is normally good to +/-0.1 unless otherwise stated.
In fact the year to year figure changes can
be up or down from the previous figure by that much. So it is
best to look for trends using 5 yr stats. For instance the
total life expectancy earc year from 2000 to now
was

78.76 78.9 79.05 79.28 79.44 79.6 79.73 80.59 80.87
80.98 81.09 81.19 81.46

In this case I would not expect better than 3 figure accuracy not 4. Notice
that the heat wave of 2003 had no discernable effect on the life expectancy.
