My ankles always swell up considerably during a cruise. I know that
this has been discussed here before but I'm wondering if anyone has
come up with any new ideas for dealing with this problem.

One suggestion has been to drink a lot of water. I drink a lot of
coffee. That hasn't helped. Does coffee have the same effect as
water?

Your ankles swell because of all the salt in the food. A second cause
might be from being on your feet a lot when it is hot and humid. I have
had this problem on all of our cruises and as long as the swelling goes
down overnight, it is nothing to worry about. Ask your doctor for a
diuretic to take when this happens and it will help.

Uh, no, ask your DR for help not self-subscribe a diuretic. Duh.
