The average low in Anchorage goes down to -12/-13 °C, with a record of -38,
while way down south in Winnipeg the average low reaches -22/-23°C with a
record of -49°C

In summer the situation is vice versa: Then it's a lot warmer in continental
climates
like the southern parts of NWT, or Manitoba
