terribly bad as many people survive it.

Filgga, all,

I'd label that an enormous exaggeration.

At the coast, the temperatures still remain near 30°C (86°F)
through day and night. In Nairobi, there are still sunny days
with temperatures getting close to that.

Only in the morning the temperatures in Maasai Mara or Nairobi
(i.e. at altitudes above 5,000 ft) occasionally get as low as
12°C (53°F), but after 8 am temperatures rise quickly. It
doesn't get cooler than that. No ice on the lakes. (:-)

In short, you need one warm jacket or sweater for the cool
mornings, otherwise you only need the same normal summer clothes
you wear in central Europe or north America.

See http://www.michna.com/kenya.htm for check lists and safari
background information.
