We're a UK family visiting California this August. We popping over the
state line to visit Vegas for a couple of days. But then we'd like to
return back to drive north up the Pacific Coast. Probably staying at
Carmel. But thats too much driving in one day. So we're looking for
somewhere nice to stay half way along that route. Maybe around

I guess there's lot of motels we could overnight stop at. But if there
were some pleasant Inns or classy Bed and Breakfasts that folks might
recommend, we'd appreciate that.

We're in LA before Vegas so we won't want to return there - we'll have
been there and done that.


Its only about a 4 hour drive to Palmdale and its
not exactly an exciting place.

I'd suggest driving to either San Luis Obispo
or Cambria from Las vegas and then driving up
the PCH from there.

You should be able to do this in around 8 hours
and Cambria is a rather nice little town thats
handy for Hearst Castle
