I'd originally written "New York" but realized that I had no idea where
InterState 80 goes other than in a generally Eastern direction.


I-80 goes through Nevada, past Salt Lake City, then into Wyoming and
then across the great flat areas until it enters northern Pennsylvania.
There, as the highway crosses through the thick hardwood forest, over
the top of the Allegheny Crest, there's a sign reading something close
to "Elevation 2500 feet, Highest Point on I-80 east of the
Mississippi". I think it's higher than that all the way through Nevada.
