Default Mexican Riviera or Caribbean

The wife and I are signed up for HAL out of San Diego on 4-3 for 10 day cruise
with the following ports and was wondering if you could give any suggestion
above and beyond the standard fair of shore excursions. Some sponsored
excursions are good, but sometimes the best things to do are not in the books.
Any help or suggestions is appreciated. We will be making port calls at the
following and in this order:
Manzanillo
Acapulco - cliff divers
Zihuatanejo
Puerto Ballarta
Mazatlan
Cabo San Lucas - carriage ride tour

Email or posting is fine.
Thanks

We have been to Mexico five times in the last two years and are doing a
back-to-back on the Diamond Princess next month.
However, if you haven't been to the Caribbean or Alaska, get busy. They are
both wonderful. We think that the best ports in the Caribbean are in the
South and the best way to get there is to sail out of San Juan.

I agree with the people who say that the Caribbean is best but for us,
Mexico is more convenient
Smooth sailing,

I'm with you, Don. Since I also live on the West coast and time and money

are
of the essence, I find cruising down to the Mexican Riviera works fine for

me.
And, I've done the 4 nighters to Baja, as well. Sure, if I could, I would
consider a cruise on the Caribbean. Actually, we hope to do Alaska

next...maybe
next year...not sure.

As for the Mexican Riviera, I've sailed there 4 times since 1988 and I've

never
tired of it. First of all, I rarely do the same thing twice while in port

and
of the ones I do visit again, it's because I enjoyed it so much the first

time,
I want to do it again.

Right now if I had the chance to sail back to the Mex Riv I would jump at

the
chance, even though I was there the last two Spring breaks. Just give me
another SHIP! That's what I cruise for the most.

You are right but we do live near LA and San Diego. We used to think

that
we would never take the same cruise twice (been there and done that
syndrome). However we found that, for us, the ship is the thing, not the
ports.

Caribbean, the water is way cleaner, the ports are much better, etc. If

you
lived on the west coast and could walk to the ship then probably Mexico,

but
we wouldn't rush back to the Mexican Riviera.
