Probably "Lordships of the Manor" which don't actually allow you to call
yourself a Lord (as in "Lord Smith" or whatever).In medieval times Lords of
the Manor had various feudal rights and privileges, but I don't think that's
the case now.


No, peerage titles are actually and legally transferrable in the U.K.
You CAn buy a peerage. Unfortunately this doesn't come with the
privilege/right to sit in the House of Lords anymore.
