The one thing I would add to Peter's suggestions below is to be sure and
get a ferry day-pass while in Sydney.

Incredibly good value for your money, you can take a ferry trip to Manly
Beach (recommended) and have terrific views of the bridge and the Opera
House. Ferries go all over the harbour, and it's not only a quick way to
see lots of the harbour, it's got great views going and coming.

YEAH! I used to live in Manly and never tired of the ferry rides.
There's always something goin on in the harbour. Getting a ferry to
Darling Harbour is fun too.
