We are going to Kenya for a visit of sixteen days this month, Malarone
was recommended as the prophylactic to take, I was surprised at how
expensive it was, £63, I took the prescription to Superdrug chemists,
what are other people`s experiences of the price of this drug?
Thanks,
Pat.

In SA it's only available on prescription, but a travel clinic should
be able to do the consultation, prescription, and dispensing for
around R500 - R600 which is about £33 - £40. The drugs themselves
would go for about R350 - R400.

I wonder if a South African pharmacy would dispense Malarone on a
British doctor's prescription? Although, we call it Malanil here, and
there are some pharmacies who will dispense without a prescription if
you spin them a good enough story...I lost my tablets.... I'm staying
for longer than anticipated, etc.
