This scam is known as a "chain letter". You are wrong if you think
that it is perfectly legal. In fact, it is illegal in the United States.

Anyone thinking of responding to this chain letter must have
been born yesterday, because they've been going around by
mail for at least a hundred years, and by email and newsgroup
since the beginning of the Internet.
