IBERIA brand it's moving toward long range travel .

Because of the development of the Spanish High Speed Network ( AVE )
most domestic routes will cease to be profitable . With an AVE
Madrid-Barcelona for around 50 Euros reaching the center of the city ,
this domestic route for Iberia is doomed.

Malaga-Madrid is the 3rd domestic route for Iberia. Of course when next
year , 2007 , also enter service ... who is going to take the plane ?
while the train let you in central Madrid ?

Also the LCC is reshaping things .. so IBERIA will concentrate on it's
LONG RANGE ROUTES , and some profitable european routes ONLY FROM
MADRID BARAJAS , and the short routes and european NOT departing from
MADRID BARAJAS , will go for both , Air Nostrum and this new LCC AIR
MEDITERRANEA.
