Other great islands are the US virgins, especially St. Johns for a

Why are you recommending an island that has no casinos? The OP
specified he wanted them. And St. John has no shopping, though they
could make day trips to St. Thomas for that.

You learn about St. Thomas soon enough when planning a trip to USVI.

I realize there are no casinos (nor much of anything else). That's the
point. I like to tell folks new to the Carib about St.Johns as a great
place for relaxing or getting one's marriage back on line. No distractions
other than sun and sand.

IMHO, Aruba seems to match what this fellow is looking for.
