Eurail pass in Italy?
Hi all,
My sister is heading to France, Italy & Spain for five weeks next month and is considering purcahsing the 3 country pass (10 days unlimited travel in 2 mths). I initially advised her that she should not use a eurail pass in italy (her longest train trip planned in Italy is Florence to Naples) because when I travelled in Europe for several mths in 1999 I never used my Eurail Pass in Italy because trains back then were inexpensive and it was not worth "wasting" my eurail days on trips in Italy (my trip was 6 mths and I intended travelling more countries). Obviously back then Euro was not standard currency and I was spending Lira. What is the case now? From what I can see, trains are not as cheap as they once were. What do you advise? Can you also advise of any websites that have journey times and costs so she can compare how much it will cost compared to using a 'eurail day'. Cheers, Lor |
