Atlanta/Marietta with 4 year old
I will be with my 4 year old grandson in Marietta and would like any
suggestions of things for just him and me to do, preferably in the Marietta area, but also Atlanta suggestions would be appreciated. I am an active person. Thanks for any help. |

There is actually a book on things to do in the Atlanta area with kids --
can't remember the name of it, but it's probably in local book stores. The Thursday Atlanta Journal Constitution has all events, festivals, etc. listed -- visit www.ajc.com. I don't know much about 4 year olds, or Marietta. But in downtown Atlanta there's a children's science museum, Sci-Trek. And Fernbank Museum of Natural History -- big dinosaurs and all that. Do kids like Botanical Gardens? That's in Piedmont Park. ZooAtlanta is really nice -- it's in Grant Park SE of downtown. Marietta has a nicely restored downtown square, but not sure what kids would like about it. You can visit Kennesaw and climb the mountain and learn about the battle. There is also an American Adventure park and Whitewater in Marietta, but I think they are just seasonal. Hope that helps. Sarah "Alice Bean" wrote in message ... If he is a train lover (what kid isn't?), consider the volunteer-run
Southeastern Railway Museum (www.srmduluth.org) in Duluth (on the Northeast side and a bit of a drive from Marietta). I have volunteered there for 11 years (in spite of now living in North Carolina and having to drive 3 hours to volunteer). They have train rides in restored cabooses. Check the web site as they are only open Thurs-Sat now and only Saturday during the winter. John "Alice Bean" wrote in message ...
