Default X-ray machines at Singapore (Changi) airport

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the x-ray machines at Changi are film safe? I have
a feeling that I read some time ago that they may have the new
machines for cabin luggage that will fry film.
The reason I'm asking is that I fly from Singapore to Australia
(Perth) and I'm wondering whether I should stock up on slide film
before I leave. Does anyone know whether there is much of a price
difference? Also, can anyone recommend a good lab to get slide film
processed, either in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur? While I'm not a Pro
I'm fairly picky about my photos, and I'd prefer to have them
developed as soon as possible...

Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the info I've gotten from this
ng over the past year or so, it's made the 5 months I've been
traveling in SE Asia much easier!

Singapore airport's security system is tourist friendly. Further, you might
like to pick up film from Singapore as it would certainly be cheaper than
UK.

The carry-on ones are, yes. The checked luggage ones most likely aren't,
so just make sure you carry your film with you.

Scott.
