Switzerland: Apply for a Schengen visa for Italy

Hi,

I'm travelling on Business from the US to Zurich, Switzerland. I will
have 2 weekends and thinking about travel to Italy. Since i leave in a
few days and do not have time to apply for a Schengen Visa in US as
they take 2-3 weeks to process, i was wondering if anyone knows if i
can apply for the Schengen visa at the Italian embassy in Switzerland.

I am not a US Citizen so i need a visa to travel to Italy.

Is far as I can tell you can apply there. Don't forget the embassy is in
Bern, but I'm sure you can apply a the consulate in Zurich:
