eurocard in malaysia ?

hi all,

in januar I will travel to malaysia fpr 3 weeks. I'm not really sure
what is the best payment.

i will stay only in Langkawi .

a friend tell me i can get money with eurocard in several 'ATM' cash
machines ?!? Is it right ?
And what about general payment conditions...is it popular to pay with
VISA ?

Be very careful with credit or debit cards in Malaysia. Malaysia is
known to be a major center of credit and debit card fraud. I've also
had personal experience with this. Someone made a fake card and used
that to pay for a vacation to southern Thailand about a month after I
returned from a trip to Malaysia. I got the money refunded, but had no
money in my bank account for about a week, and my bank then declined
to give me another debit card and doesn't issue credit cards. So I
have to change banks and get a credit card.

Not sure what a Eurocard is.
ATMs can be found in the Airport, in Kuah town and at the Jeti, of course
more may have been added since last March.
We always pay by Visa or Mastercard, when possible, and have not had any
problems. It is wise though to "watch" your card while it is out of your
hands.
Tell your CC company your travel plans and Dates before you go- otherwise
they may "stop" your card.
